Sapphire Blue Color

Of all the colored glass used by Dorflinger, blue is probably the most difficult to locate.  It is also one of the most predictable colors used by Dorflinger.  Other colors like red come in light and dark shades, and even their green color was not constant.  However, their blue was always a rich and dark shade.  The color looks like that of a sapphire.  Some more advanced collectors and dealers generally use the word sapphire instead of blue when describing this shade of Dorflinger glass.  It certainly added life to some pieces which would have otherwise been not especially noteworthy.
